During his years of teaching he has trained many students from beginners to 6th Dan, some have competed at the highest level winning major honours for England.
Master Best’s training has always been focused on delivering fast, hard and dynamic techniques with the Japan Karate Association ethos of
“One strike one kill”. His training would always be hard, but very informative giving students an insight into different applications and scenarios that would challenge you and make you look at your technique in order to develop every aspect of your Karate.
With a wealth of knowledge Master Best has been a major driving force behind his son’s George & Ian Best passing on his knowledge to them and watching his son’s become England squad members as well as becoming British, European & World Champions.
" When asked how he felt about his achievements, Dr. Best said "Knowledge is wonderful. Wisdom is marvellous, the two are very closely linked but yet different, the reason being that wisdom informs knowledge. I am constantly reminded of that through my personal Kata Shikaku Vision."
